I applied in-person. The process took 1 day. I interviewed at Massage Envy (Charlottesville, VA) in Feb 2012
Interview
They check my certification and insurance and I did a brief massage on a staff member. They are very interested to see that you drape properly. This is more important than doing a great massage. Remember, your job is to keep management happy. This means they like therapists who will not cause problems. Stress that you like to follow direction, be responsive to the client's requests, drape properly, be on time, get the clients' rooms ready promptly and you will be fine.
I applied online. The process took 2 days. I interviewed at Massage Envy (Milford, CT) in May 2013
Interview
They ask what your experience is, do you have any specialties and you have to do a hands on session on one of the workers or the owner. It's pretty easy, they just want to get a feel for you and will do a background check. They WILL ask you to sell crap, which is the absolute worse! As a therapist this is NOT your strong point but they will make you do it.
