I applied online. The process took 4 weeks. I interviewed at Mayo Clinic (Jacksonville, FL) in Jan 2019
Interview
Mayo- Jacksonville - I was contacted by email from HR and invited to a phone screen with the CNO. When the interview started, CNO said that it would last 30 minutes and that she would ask me questions for 20 and then leave the last 10 minutes for my questions. It was a cold interview and she did not introduce herself except to tell me who she was. She did not explain the position or what the oversight was, did not share any information about the Mayo (just because it is the Mayo does not mean everyone knows their mission or values) and just launched into questions that sounded like she was reading off of a paper. Very impersonal.
Phone screens are nervewracking and challenging as it is, yet this felt like it was an inconvenience for her. I received my declination email about thirty days later. While I was not considered, I did not walk away from my experience thinking very highly of the process or the organization. It was a waste of both of our time and from a customer viewpoint, did not make me feel confident about their commitment to hire impassioned nurse leaders that can carry out their mission.
I applied through an employee referral. The process took 3 weeks. I interviewed at Mayo Clinic (Jacksonville, FL) in Jul 2017
Interview
Psychological Based. Panel interview after phone interview and screening. All department heads at the table asking questions with all participants grading the answers on a 1 - 5 scale. Just getting an interview is an act of congress.
Smooth process, well organized, and professional atmosphere when interviewing. I was treated respectfully and felt it was a good company to interview with. HR was very helpful in being flexible to find a time that worked with my schedule. The team that I met with was very welcoming.
