Interview
I was contacted for SWE role with Cisco Meraki Sydney a few years ago, however unexpectedly the application didn't even pass HR screen after a call with a lady HR, this is one of the most unfair and unprofessional recruiting experience I ever had. I'm senior candidate and have been with recognized tech companies before including Cisco, and now with a better employer and feel have to write it down. The lady asked me sth which clearly stated in my CV with tone appear to be biased and unprofessional, I answered all queries with patience and finished the call and later on got msg that it's rejected. it's the 1st time got rejected during HR screen, and doesn't make sense as the role JD fits well with my background/skillset and I doubt hiring manger ever looked at my application. Though it's an unpleasant experience, looking back I'm actually happy that it didn't go through as who wants to work for a company like this, it's a shame on the HR staff

I applied online. The process took 3 days. I interviewed at Meraki in May 2025
Interview
Interview was with one engineer conducted via Coderpad and Webex. Prep I was given was to study leetcode, so I already had a feeling I was set up for failure given that it would not be a frontend engineering task. The interviewer didn't know what role/team I applied for so it's clearly a canned exercise they give everyone.

(Same as another reviewer described) The technical challenge was a variation of leetcode merge interval. The FIRST part is easy. After that they gave a more complex variation of the problem, with arrays nested 3 levels deep.
Zoom interview with an engineer. One on one discussion about your resume and what you can bring to the company. Few technical questions and they were not very difficult. Mainly interested in how you fit rather than what you know.
