I applied online. The process took 4 weeks. I interviewed at Niantic (Seattle, WA) in Oct 2021
Interview
Interview only if you wish to waste your time. The company has np respect for the candidate's time. The response time from HR was incredibly slow and required MULTIPLE follow-ups. Gave absolutely no feedback on a 48 hr assignment. Rejected even after answering questions correctly. Kindly run away from interviewing for this position unless you're a data engineer and want nothing to do with ML/data science

I applied online. The process took 2 months. I interviewed at Niantic
Interview
Initially made it through 3 out of the 4 interviews. Beginning with a take-home assignment, then a one-on-one interview, followed by a panel of four interviewers spread over the course of an afternoon.
The process took a great deal of time (roughly two months) and there was generally a lack of transparency surrounding the status of my application and communication on when to expect next steps.
I've read a few other reviews of the interview experience and I think they're spot-on, particularly about the lack of communication.
The most frustrating part of the experience was receiving the final 'no' via an automated email instead of through the usual email channel established with the recruiter I exchanged emails with.
It seems they're pretty swamped and operating on low bandwidth, but I felt a general sense of disrespect after receiving the news I would not be moving forward via a 'No Reply' email that was obviously copy-pasted (or at the very least contained spacing/formatting issues).
