I applied online. The process took 3 weeks. I interviewed at Niantic (San Francisco, CA) in Dec 2019
Interview
Video Phone Screen, Take Home test, Pre-onsite call with recruiter, Onsite with team.
The beginning of the process was actually great and got me super excited about the opportunity. I did appreciate the pre-onsite call with the recruiter. What threw me off was the onsite with the team.
Met with the 3 recruiters, hiring manager, and another RC. Two of the recruiters talked passionately about the company, team and their experience but left absolutely no time for me to speak. And when I did speak for a minute or two, they would talk nonstop for 10 minutes so there was no chance for me to really speak to my strengths and my contributions to the team. The hiring manager was not friendly at all and seem to want to scare off candidates which threw me off since she would be the manager of the role.
Word of advice - interviews are an opportunity for the candidates to talk about themselves and for the team to learn more about the candidates. Everything went great until the onsite. It was so bad, I actually thought about removing myself from the process before the interview ended.
