I applied online. The process took 2 weeks. I interviewed at Okta (Toronto, ON) in Feb 2019
Interview
Very negative experience. The company seems to be one of the greatest places you want to work from outside but a wrong person interviewed me very unprofessionally in terms of first being late, second not focused on the interview at all and third not even reviewed my profile.
This one person, in a wrong position, unintentionally played with my career and now I don't even get any screening interview for other positions, assuming the first interview was not a succeed. I still want to work for this company as I hired many people in the past and as soon as this person started to interview me, I figured this person should not be a first point of contact in hiring process as this is a very important responsibility to deal with. Can someone tell me what to do please? I want to work for Okta but a wrong person, played the wrong card and ruined my career roadmap. Can HR team review this and escalate this to the top so things can be improved internally?

Question 1
Random question as the interviewer was not really focused at all. A very amateur interview process for a senior role.
I applied online. The process took 2 months. I interviewed at Okta in Mar 2019
Interview
Recruiter sent coding challenge, I completed it a few days later. I sent followup emails to the recruiters for 2 weeks after with no response. Several more weeks later, a recruiter sends a request for interview.
Interviewer initially said "you can make the code as messy as it needs to be to work, I can understand it". They kept interrupting me as I was speaking to tell me how something I'm saying/doing to understand the problem is unnecessary. After solving the problem, they complained at how "if-elsey" the answer was. The interviewer then went and edited my code themself, to add extra return statements and extra "else" clauses. They told me I should've saved a boolean for clauses that were checked twice. They complained about how messy the code was, reneging on what they initially said.

Question 1
Given an existing function that takes a regex string and a word string and returns whether the word string matches the regex in the regex string (i.e. fn("a.c", "abc") will return true), add the regex asterisk operator (*) functionality.
Had a phone screen with the recruiter. We had a great conversation in which steps were detailed very clearly yet never followed as discussed. I was told that I would have a follow up interview the following week with the hiring manager yet no interview was scheduled nor was a response provided to my thank you or follow up emails. Overall it was a good conversation but after the conversation, itself I was disappointed in the lack of follow through and transparency.
