I applied through an employee referral. The process took 4 weeks. I interviewed at Okta (Bengaluru) in Apr 2025
Interview
First of all, I applied it via referral got a call soon then the interview schedule. The first round was a 30 minutes manager discussion where they asked about the job and they discussed about this position. A few technical questions were also asked. I don't remember exactly then it was supposed to be a coding round but here I must really appreciate the the team the HR team for scheduling it multiple times so the second round was a coding round for one hour after it third run would have been a team discussion round I believe but I couldn't clear the second round.
Interview questions [1]
Question 1
First question) they asked to reverse a given string.
Second question) I was given a file which contained IP addresses and some error codes. My job was to sort out and create a list which would display the IP addresses, which had the most 400 error codes
I applied through other source. The process took 4 weeks. I interviewed at Okta
Interview
Rejected after completing the loop, very frustrating experience.
- HR screening
- technical round w/ hiring manager
- technical round threat modeling
- technical round code review and technical conversation
- behavioral w/ director of security org
The team was really nice, but the director was clearly not engaged in the conversation and just reading behavioral questions straight from a question bank, 0% human interaction, felt like talking to a robot just writing down everything I said.
Interview questions [1]
Question 1
Tell me about all the ways you can think of achieving RCE.
What is the difference between symmetric and asymmetric encryption
What are the protocols behind SSO
How would you mitigate SQLi
If you had to keep 1 risk between a business logic flaw and a XSS which one would you keep and why
Good interview process and experience. I really liked the hiring manager and the people I met. I was very close to accepting and eventually declined the offer mainly because I decided I was not ready to leave where I was.
