Interview
The first couple of rounds were pleasant. I'm new at IAM but very experienced at the TAM role, and expectations were set that this was acceptable for the role as long as I was a willing learner. The third was a technical screening focused on IAM technical acumen (which I had already expressed that I didn't have). If expectations had been uniform, less time would have been wasted. Additionally, one of the technical screeners called me "non-technical" (though I had already explained I spent over a decade as an engineer). Insulting at best.
I applied online. The process took 4 weeks. I interviewed at Okta in Mar 2024
Interview
4 rounds:
1) Met with recruiter
2) Met with hiring manager
3) Interviews with 2 members of the team
4) Worked on take-home problem and presented to the hiring manager and his boss
While promised to hear back from the team 2-3 business days after the final round, it took them 4 business days for the recruiter to reach out to schedule a call. After the 4 business days, the call was scheduled an additional 3 business days afterward with no indication of whether or not I got the job. Overall an extremely negative experience having to wait without any closure in spite of the company already deciding on the role. In fact, the post interview survey came out before the recruiter called me.
