I interviewed at Penguin Random House (New York, NY)
Interview
Had several phone calls set up (Probably 5-6) where I was passed from one department to another. Typically they were just asking basic get to know you questions. The original department I applied to turned me down but she liked me and so passed me to another dept where she knew there was an opening. The same thing happened again until eventually I was offered an internship in a digital department but by that point I had already accepted a position with another firm. Wanted to work for Penguin badly but they strung me along.

Question 1
What is the most important commodity we in the publishing industry have?
I applied online. The process took 4 weeks. I interviewed at Penguin Random House (New York, NY)
Interview
I had five rounds of interviews, but this was for a particularly complex manager so it made sense. Round 1 was a phone interview with the recruiter, round 2 was with HR, round 3 was with the manager I was going to work with, round 4 was three back to back mini interviews with colleagues, and the final round was with the manager again. It took about a week for them to offer me the job after my last interview and the entire process took about a month.

Question 1
What has brought you to publishing at this point in your career?
I applied online. The process took 1 week. I interviewed at Penguin Random House (Londres, Inglaterra) in May 2023
Interview
Consisted of a solo interview, individual task and group task. The interview was very easygoing. Follow up questions were asked after each question which made it more conversational and they were really interested in hearing about my own views and thoughts about the publishing landscape.
