I applied online. I interviewed at Penguin Random House (New York, NY)
Interview
I have interviewed at this company no fewer than 30 times. I find it deeply inhumane that after all this time and effort I have invested, constantly applying, interviewing, and subsequently getting rejected (by phone, by email, no response for weeks; it varies), they refuse to tell me what I'm doing wrong or on what I could improve. It's getting silly.

Interview
Unscheduled phone screening with HR about a week after I submitted my resume through Media Bistro. Then I was called in for an interview with the hiring manager and then called in again to meet the rest of his team. Straightforward experience

I applied online. The process took 4 weeks. I interviewed at Penguin Random House (New York, NY) in Jan 2017
Interview
I applied online, got a phone call from HR which was an informal phone interview. Then an in-person interview was scheduled. The interview with HR was a typical HR style interview. Formal questions, not conversational at all with minimal response when I gave answers. I had a better experience with the hiring manager, which felt like a two-way proper conversation.
