I applied online. I interviewed at PlayStation (Londres, Inglaterra) in Mar 2017
Interview
Interview took place in Soho, London. Face to face with the hiring manager. Format was super relaxed and took shape of a more informal discussion. Overall time in the interview was just shy of 3 hours but was great. I was interviewed by the hiring manager who was really kind and felt genuinely interested in all of my responses .
Didn't ask me much about experience but more about my knowledge of PlayStation both the brand and products.
Only downside was after the interview. It was quite difficult to get an answer from HR and took about 4 weeks to provide feedback.
Interview questions [1]
Question 1
Most of the questions were scenario based (How would you position a certain PlayStation product during the Christmas season when thinking about our competitors product?).
Other questions were aimed at my personal opinions and what I had wrote about on my blog.
Threw a couple of questions in there about my CV but more specifically were about my personal interests outside of work etc.
I applied in-person. The process took 3 months. I interviewed at PlayStation (San Mateo, CA) in Jan 2017
Interview
I've applied for the position early January, then they reached back to me in June for a phone interview. The phone interview was very short and simple, more about getting to know me and seeing if I'm interested. I then heard back two weeks after regarding an in person interview. I've met with 4 employees along with the Creative Director. The interviews were straight forward. I believe I nailed it, specially with my experience and talent. Now here's the negative aspect of this whole thing. I walked out being told I should be hearing back from them within a week. Over a month I still didn't hear back I then decided to finally email them to see if they've made a decision. Week later I've received a "sorry we've moved on with another candidate email". I can understand how these things work. Though, I dedicated my time and effort to fly out there from a different region, the least you can do is not keep me on hold for such a long time, and reply to my email so that I know I'm no longer part of the system. Everyone I've met with were nice and friendly, the process of communication was extremely negative. Please change the habit in the future and not waste anyone's time.
