I applied through an employee referral. The process took 6 weeks. I interviewed at Shopify
Interview
The process was a bit convoluted, but probably was so because roles are tight at Shopify given the current economic climate.
Was unable to apply at first, so needed to get an employee referral to recruiter and hiring manager to get an interview.
I made it to step 3, but messed up the case a little bit so did not move on.
Process was 6 steps in total:
0. Introductory call
1. Mini-case interview
2. Recruiter conversation
3. Another Case interview
4. Hiring manager interview
5. Metrics interview
6. PM "craft" interview
Overall, I think Shopify does a good job setting expectations for what to expect in the interview after step 2. Unfortunately, maybe due to timing or something else, it took a long time to schedule all of these interviews. Many of these interviews happened one after another (rather than in groups, like in a super-day).
Expect the process to take ~8 weeks end-to-end. And asking for things to be sped up may not necessarily help. Plan accordingly!
