Interview
Worst application experience I've ever had: First round interview was to understand my experience, second round was a technical quiz. I passed both and then the hiring manager scheduled a group interview after completing a take home project. I started working on the project (which was very broad - all they wanted was an hour long presentation on a topic within data science) and then five days later I was informed (on a Monday) that they had gone with another candidate on Friday, without even hearing the presentation I had been working on. Incredibly unprofessional behavior.

Question 1
The quiz they had me take consisted of 48 questions related to data science in python. If you've taken multiple classes using Python for data science/research/AI and ML applications, you should be fine. It was long enough and you can look up most of the answers if you're not sure.

Interview
I want to make it clearly upfront that this review is for Sr. Manager Shawn Kramer.
I am part of Spectrum for 5 year and i am very happy to be part of this big organization but I would like to share my interview experience with hiring manager Mr. Kramer.
I did a internal application for the role of network engineer with Spectrum and after initial talk with the recruiter i had an interview scheduled with Shawn Kramer who is a Sr. Manager.
I believe that hiring manager did the interview very difficult on purpose. He wasn’t professional at all. Didn't look my resume or asked questions for my previous experience. He just said “Hello” and started immediately asking technical question. I answered more than 10 questions correctly one after the other and proved that I have very good networking skills and knowledge.
Interview was scheduled for 30 minutes but that was only the 1st part. Manager started a second part asking me simulation troubleshooting questions and thats where I started to struggle.
Anytime I answered correctly another question was following until i had no answer. I am sure that he wants the best on his team but I feel his question were off books. I dont have hands on experience now to be able to answer this kind of questions. He knew that and i believe he wanted me to fail. He didnt have a positive approach during the interview. I am also part of hiring process at my current role and if i want a candidate to fail I can make it happen. He also said he is looking for someone that doesn’t require training but as part of Spectrum for 5 years I have seen training is given and has a key role on employee growing process and performance. So i disagree with that.
I found that Mr. Kramer was very recently promoted to a Sr. Manager and I wish him good luck but I am sure that once he was in my shows and someone supported him on his career growth.

The interview process was fairly simply and easy to follow! They based it more so on your fit for the team rather than your fit for the overall company and it works! The team and interviewers were amazing.
