I applied through a recruiter. The process took 3 weeks. I interviewed at Spectrum (Denver, CO) in Aug 2021
Interview
The interview process for a mid level software engineer was three parts. An introduction call that talked about the company, team, and laid out the expectations for the interview process which would be a simple code challenge followed by a difficult coding challenge in the final interview
Interview questions [1]
Question 1
They asked some specific javascript questions to test my knowledge. They also asked me about the React lifecycle and we talked about managing state. It felt like a mix of easy and difficult questions as if they were looking for me to admit that I didn't know some of the answers. The code challenge wasn't very collaborative so I had to work through the problems myself.
I applied online. I interviewed at Spectrum (Denver, CO) in Mar 2021
Interview
Virtual. There were 7 others in the room with their camera off and each took turns asking 2-3 questions. A little intimidating because there weren’t any breaks and I couldn’t see anyone

Question 1
If you weren’t a software engineer what would you do?
I applied through a recruiter. The process took 3 days. I interviewed at Spectrum in Aug 2021
Interview
Two interviews. Both involved coding challenges. Second interview was conducted by a panel of engineers, the first interview only involved one. Everyone was friendly and were helpful in answering questions I had about the company. The technical questions were solid but doable. They seemed to be mainly concerned with seeing how capable you are and problem solving skills, more than on finding the optimal algorithm.
