Interview
The HR was a nice person and that interview went really well. However, the assessment test was heavy. I think it is only fair to invite you for an assessment test after you have had a proper interview with the chief editor and other team members. I was not sure why I should dedicate my whole week to assess three publications and propose my ideas (for free) for 2 review articles (and not only this). Additionally, I was on vacation and on requesting them if they could send me the assessment a bit later they were not understanding. I did the assessment and submitted on time to be only ghosted. I did request them about the feedbacks which I got (I assume the assessment team also ghosted the HR). Lame reasons that they are looking for someone with different background. I think my background was pretty clear in my CV and extremely big application( also had assessments). Again I ended up assessing 6 manuscripts and providing them my novel and creative ideas. I respect nature publication for their excellent quality (well not all) that is solely due do hardworking scientists and underpaid editors. I don’t feel bad about getting rejected but I am sorry about the scientists desperately seeking a career opportunity for the sake of permanent contract. Their business model is to exploit scientists either they are their customers ( high publishing fee) or editors(extremely low salary). Seriously, if you are offering a job in Berlin at least pay them a postdoc salary.
