I applied through the portal and then was selected for a phone interview. The phone interview was straight forward (What does it mean to work in a team, why do you want to work here). Then I was set up an appointment for an in person interview. They are looking for sales experience or that you are able to comfortably talk with customers. At the end I had to roleplay selling a TJ Maxx rewards card but they will first talk you through the process they want you to do and tell you what they want to hear.

Question 1
How would you start a conversation with a customer?
I applied in-person. I interviewed at TJ Maxx (Cincinnati, OH) in Feb 2017
Interview
Quick sit down with the manager, going over resume, goals and what you are looking for in your next role. Biggest thing is someone they can relay on to show up to their shifts.
The interview was not very personal, and was a virtual timed-recording. It felt more like a memorization test than an interview. We were not allowed to re-record or do over.
