I applied in-person. The process took 1 day. I interviewed at Ulta Beauty (Cookeville, TN) in Aug 2020
Interview
We were asked to pick a product of our choice then sell it in the interview as if they were customers. They asked a lot of theoretical questions pertaining to customer service scenarios.
As would be expected, dress business casual (no jeans/sneakers). Putting effort into hair & makeup is also helpful, as it shows that you're willing to do the same when you go to work each day. It's not about being "traditionally attractive" but about expressing your individuality with your style. Think about your past customer service experience and be ready to speak to it: how do you deal with difficult customers? Think of an instance in which you dealt with a challenging guest and it ended well and an instance in which it did not. What interests you about working at Ulta? Is your schedule flexible? Do you have an interest in growing with the company? All good things to consider!
Easier, smooth. Took some time to get a date due to the busy schedules for the managers and it was right after the holidays. I was asked 5 questions and hired on the spot.
