Due to outsourcing manufacturing to low cost countries, COPQ is eroding the bottom line and customer confidence. Everything is about cost savings and the bottom line. Job cuts are frequent even when the company as a whole is doing well. Work loads can be especially heavy and due to the job cuts, those left behind are burdened with even more work. They talk of work/life balance but depending on your position, this can be difficult to achieve and management doesn't care

Very high pressure, high staff turnover, management only interested in sales figures, no regard for quality or employees. The company relies almost exclusively on immigrant engineers on work permits, exploiting them to the maximum. ABB are a good company in Sweden and Switzerland, but their UK operations are a joke.
