Great teamwork with little management overhead

Pros

There is very little management overhead for my daily or even weekly work. You quickly learn to make good choices yourself and how to carefully balance interests of all parties. When I started working here, I was involved in relatively important projects almost from the start. This helped me gain a lot of experience quickly, which every day proves to be more essential. A lot of knowledge is shared, and apart from people actually being busy, there are little to no barriers to asking questions and getting help. There is also time to study different aspects of financial technology and what our merchants use. Taking time for this is really never frowned upon ( although projects, live merchants should take priority ). Compensation is reasonable and are dependent on the amount of initiative you take with new clients and projects. Depending on your role and initiative, a lot of travelling can be involved for visiting merchants and partners. This is great if you are able to have effective meetings, and really can help you learn about different industries. Merchants are often keen to showcase their product as well.

Cons

The main down side is that, at times, the independence required from your character can be a lot, or may be unclear. It takes confidence to come forward about mistakes you've made. It really is the only way to find out where you could have made a decision myself directly, or when you should have involved other people. Listening closely to experienced colleagues, and taking time to learn about the systems and regulations of this industry helps a lot to avoid making the sort of mistakes that get you fired. How much this job takes differs from time to time, and depending on your role it can take a lot to achieve big success. So this is not a normal 9 to 5 job ( Adyen in general is clear about this ). So plan on learning and growing as much as possible within this company, instead of trying to do 2 things at once. Running your own business is forbidden as well because of the conflict of interest occur. It depends on your attitude and living situation ( family, health ) if these are a negative aspects, but it would be good to take this into consideration before starting working here.

Pros

Good coffee, good lunch. You can get a mac as your working laptop (very controversial, though)

Cons

They want to be tech company but seems failing. They don't accept diversity of development but rather requiring fixed mind set. If you want to learn new staff, then it's better not to expect. It's understandable since the company handles payment so it must be very conservative not to break anything. However they're test environment is not really sufficient, it's rather impossible to write even unit tests.
