Pros

Open, collaborative environment where you are encouraged to take on tasks or projects not necessarily part of your job role. Plenty of room for professional growth with the ability to create your own career pathway. Pay and benefits are good while Adyen is also very generous in terms of snacks, drinks, team building trips, celebrations etc

Cons

I can only speak from my own experience and I'm sure this doesn't apply to all teams but the micromanagement makes working here exhausting. I thought working here would be pretty autonomous with the flexibility to get the job done in your own way, which I was led to believe in the many interviews. I was wrong. It's similar to being at school. Everything you do is either questioned, commented on, or needs to be approved. There's so many unwritten rules. For a company that prides itself on it's culture, the office atmosphere is draining.

Pros

Best company I’ve ever worked for. Amazing culture, great people, feels like a family. So many benefits- free lunch, wear what you want, beers in the fridge (!), constant supply of fruit/snacks. You are given so much trust & autonomy to build your own business/pipeline you are desperate to repay that trust. Flexible working- can work from home the odd day a week if you need too. Lots of young intelligent people in the company with a desire to make a positive impact on the organisation. Unbelivable company parties! Very few egos in the company, senior staff very approachable as well as our C-Level suite. Best product in the payments market by far- Adyen continue to disrupt an industry full of outdated legacy technology, which was previously dominated by the traditional banks. Adyen continue to innovate. Little politics, people talk straight and pick up the phone- email culture is discouraged! Success is also driven via great teamwork & working in teams to achieve is encouraged as well as sharing responsibility.

Cons

Communication within the company and across departments could sometimes be better. But it is improving. Training for new starters could improve- not much structure and very much learn on the job/ask your colleagues. I understand processes are being put in place to improve this.

Pros

Great company and culture. Very open and relaxed environment where you get complete ownership of your work

Cons

- There is a very weak management structure, and unfortunately they feel management is only for top down communication, and not interested in hearing how employees feel. - Little / no training or coaching
