Pros

1. Most people are great to work with 2. Great core product 3. Good offices 4.

Cons

1. Compensation is not really attractive 2. Growing the headcount rapidly really changed the culture and the ways of working for the worse 3. Inexperienced middle management 4. Used to be very down to earth, no fluff talk or cool aid speeches, Now turning into the typical American corporate, though based in Europe 5. From a very collaborative environment, Adyen is becoming rather cutthroat.

Slightly deceiving part-time program

Pros

Great office culture, encouraging in office networking and coffee chats. Office is also very welcoming and the overall environment is very positive and comfortable. A chance to meet a lot of great and interesting people. With the part time entry level position you definitely got the chance to make an impact and establish ownership over certain projects and processes.

Cons

The company over hired significantly, claiming in their investor calls that they will continue to do so despite competitors cutting jobs. In reality there has been a tighter lid on spending and an unofficial 'hiring freeze'. This varies greatly from team to team. Adyen suffers from a younger and inexperienced workforce, which although at times can also be a definite 'pro' there is a notable difference between employees starting out there and the experienced few. The mid-senior level noticably has a lack of patience with the entry level positions and student workers in general. There is little career guidance in this sense with team leads oftern referring to their slogan 'own your own career' which unfortunately often means you are on your own. This can work for many, but I came across many others who struggled in this career grey zone. There have been several cases of part timers working towards full time under the impression that they are either on the right track or that the full time position is open or available only to find out that this is not the case.
