Pros

I learned I never want anything to do with people or a company like this ever again.

Cons

During your interview when they tell you what your work hours are THEY ARE LYING. DO NOT LISTEN. They expect you to be working at least 50 hrs a week to keep your job, 60 hrs a week to be a decent employee, and more if you want to do well. They will then continue to expect you to work off the clock as well. "Just do this when you are watching TV, take phone calls on the weekends, you aren't doing anything most of the holiday anyway just send some emails, connect with people on LinkedIn, etc." I have had my manager calling and texting me as late as midnight and as early as 4:00 in the morning. They will also expect you to make Aerotek your entire social life. I was lectured by my manager for not sharing enough of my personal life with the team. The managers are bullies at best, abusive at worst. Typically they are abusive because they are being abused by the people above them. They will call you a Technical Recruiter at a staffing company but let's be real; you're a headhunter at a temp agency/pyramid scheme. Staffing companies are predatory business models and Aerotek is no better. The people at my specific office are people I pray I never have to see again. The fact that this business is still running shows what is wrong with society.

Good entry level job but not long term

Pros

Decent entry level job right out of college. Good initial training program. Can make a lot of money if you’re single and don’t want to have a life outside work.

Cons

Mostly working with millennials. Very fast paced environment. If you have a family and kids this job is not for you. Recruiters are stuck at a desk all day but managers can work from home pretty much whenever they want. In order to hit expected goals you will need to work 7 am - 6 pm every day. You will get scolded for trying to leave the office at 5 pm. They will tell you the entry level recruiter jobs are open due to “growth” but it’s almost always turnover related. Either someone quit because it’s too stressful or got fired for not hitting unrealistic metrics. If you start here you are most likely working for a newly promoted manager on the fast track to sales with zero, ZERO management experience and no training how to lead a team. Or you are working with a manager who has been with the company 5-10+ years who is stuck in their ways because they’ve tasted success and want to go on a free trip to Cancun every year from your hard work. They give you a lot of vacation but it’s hard to get approval to take time off. You will get questioned as to why you need off and you aren’t staying in the office to get starts for clients. 401k match is terrible, they get away from this by promoting all the potential sales bonuses and money you COULD make. In reality only the top 3-5% of the company will get these bonuses. Can be very unprofessional and very unethical business practices at times to push candidates in the door any way possible. Fees are outrageously high and don’t help save clients money by using us so they go elsewhere for cheaper.

Pros

This company is really good at developing you as a professional and the fellow recruiting team is great. That is about it...

Cons

The biggest obstacle in your job is the company itself and its system that is "proven to work". It doesn't work, they basically want you to work all the time (inside and outside of the office) and overkill your hiring so that something sticks pretty much. Management pretty much forces you to act happy or else they see it as having a "bad attitude", so god forbid you mention anything that even remotely sounds like you are frustrated or unhappy with the role. They try to make you feel like they are listening to you and want to help, don't buy it. They try to promote too quickly which results in Account Managers not being ready for their jobs, and when things go south they blame the recruiters even though a lot of the job is completely out of our control. This isn't the worst job to get into, but be extremely cautious about who you open up to in the office, especially in the Orlando office.
