Pros

-Employee Travel Credit -Food program -Standard benefits expected for a full time position

Cons

-The Portland site is just a call center -Mindless, unfulfilling, thankless customer service job -Bells and whistles to try to disguise what the job actually is. This insults everyone's intelligence. -Subtle but persistent pressure to make your coworkers "your besties"

It's a Hamster Bubble

Pros

- Free food - Many volunteering experiences to sign up for - Travel coupons - Great insurance - Great global teams

Cons

Like many other reviews have already mentioned, there is a strong emphasis on culture fit. However, it felt more like a cult than culture already. Strong drinking culture, and in APAC offices, it was common for people to get drunk. If you don't want to or cannot afford to party after work, you will be deemed a misfit and wet blanket. People are expected to "worship" the company, and with Gen Y and X being huge part of the employee crowd, your social media gets flooded with them flaunting all the benefits they get and all the parties they attend, with common phrases "My company is cooler than yours". There is also a lack of respect for other lower levels of employees, e.g. the cleaning ladies. There have been a change of so many cleaners who'd rather quit than to continue working there. Often, racist jokes are also made within the team, and assuming the colleagues who may be affected/offended "will not mind the joke, because he/she is understanding that it's just a joke". Work wise, be prepared to keep changing what you need to do every other few weeks. There is a lack of progress ahead and proper work plan. In addition, the team in APAC always try to push certain heavy duty escalations to the EU or US teams to handle while they are on shift. Opportunities are also given to people who are more popular, even if they may not be the best performer. There are also cases where compliments were verbally given during performance review but then performance review report revealed otherwise. There are some unethical practices as well, where alcohol is always ordered for almost all events (including charity events with children beneficiaries). This had caused some unhappiness in colleagues in customer support who are already underpaid and overworked, with their leads telling them there is not enough budget to cover pay raise, and yet they see food and alcohol costs being exorbitant.

Pros

+ Great food program + Some decent, hardworking, humble people.

Cons

+ The Kool-Aid.... The stuff you have to drink to succeed here, yeesh. Half of the things people say make you wonder if some giant, anthropomorphic glass pitcher is going to bust through the wall at any moment, bellowing "OH YEAHHHH." I mean, it's totally normal to do your job well AND maintain a sense of personal identity and independence at the same time. I wish that concept was celebrated more often and people weren't hamstrung by an unwillingness to buy into the cult and saturate themselves with Airbnb Kool-Aid. + Leadership. There is no transparency of what leadership actually does. Many people openly do nothing and micro-manage the joy out of the company while everybody below them (people who are no less intelligent and motivated) do all the work.
