The worst I've seen

Pros

A lot of good people work there but they are in the lower ranks.

Cons

Supervisors bully and micro-manage everything, including coworker friendships, who to talk to, who to say hello to, etc. Management runs a rumor mill of fabricated stories about employees and instigates hostility between the groups. There is no HR presence so the managers are free to do as they please. An HR rep comes around every few weeks to fire someone which keeps the atmosphere tense. Management has very limited technical knowledge. Management routinely falsifies lab data. Employees who don't go along are terminated. The medical insurance deductibles are so high it is unlikely that one would ever use it. The pay is less than the industry average. There are no raises, reviews or bonuses. Management purports to have a review and bonus program but that is just to bring in people at a lower salary. Management is very hostile towards its customers. When I left, it became necessary to file a complaint with the state to get all of my pay, which I did. Here in Michigan that is the Department of Licensing and Regulatory Affairs. Use them if you need to.

Pros

Truly a global business - opportunities for travel definitely exist. Opportunity to do a variety of roles. Good science and scientists

Cons

large focus on outsourcing means a lot of frustration with an inability to get simple things completed quickly compared to previously - especially with IT
