      A company with potential but only focused on the short term

      Pros

      Global company that offers growth opportunities if you manage to survive the cuts. Great work-life balance. Strong brands and a lot of potential for growth.

      Cons

      Talent is scarce within AkzoNobel. I often feel like the smartest person in the room. Compensation is reasonable but HR is trying to lower salary costs by lowering job grades. Reorganisations are quite frequent and lack a bigger picture/long term strategy. Management/stock listed companies operate on short term goals only and as a result leave a lot of opportunities unfulfilled.

      Pros

      Akzo Nobel used to be a great company ten years ago and had a lot of talented employees. Those employees are 70% gone and the ones that are still there are just waiting on their severance packages.. Comfortable working office environment.

      Cons

      Every year the company downsizes, a growing company does not get rid of their sales people, close their branches, outsource departments and lies to their employees. Akzo Nobel does all of this and does not blink!!

      Would recommend working there if you're Dutch, don't expect to go far it you're not...

      Cons

      Senior management is not open to new ideas...they're still stuck in EVA hell!!! Will not look at good ideas unless they came from Amsterdam.
