Cannot recommend Allianz Care

Pros

The HR team is genuinely very active trying to make Allianz Care a better work place. They offer onsite massages, sport clubs, discounts for the local Gym, town hall talks on interesting topics and engage in discussions around diversity and LGBT. They also try to listen to their employees and implement small improvements. Allianz Care has a cafeteria and nice coffee place. Lastly, the people are nice and always happy to help out.

Cons

Allianz Care can be compared with organisations back in the 80s. It fosters an extremely top-down management style, challenging your manager's decisions is frowned upon (or worse), internet access is blocked, 3-month notice period, people are expected to sit at their desk from 9 to 5 and still need to clock in and out at their shift, the office itself is terribly boring with zero color. The technology and systems are shockingly old. Allianz uses a virtual environment that is controlled out of Paris (using Windows 7 and IE 11) which is slow and causes tons of trouble with fundamental business tools. Allianz Care works in extreme silos, where the different functions often don't get along and blame each other for failed projects. Even the senior leaders don't get along and play political games, which is often reflected in changing business priorities. Officially Allianz Care wants to change and adapt a modern way of working, but with the same senior leaders in the same positions they have for years, change will not be possible. They hired some very good new leaders and these folks had great positive impact, but there are still a lot of leaders stuck in their 80's command and control style. A lot of new mid-level and higher-level managers I spoke to privately expressed their frustration and the high turnover rate will continue if the organisational culture will not improve soon.

Hello, and thank you for your honest feedback. We are happy to hear you think positively about the people working at Allianz Care and that you appreciate the work being done by HR. To address your concerns. Improving the soft skills of people management has also been raised through our employee engagement survey. This has been addressed recently with a first cohort of managers and team leaders commencing our 'Leadership as a Profession' programme. Having IT systems managed off-site is not ideal but improvements have been made recently. You can receive relaxed browser permissions by logging a ticket with IT. The log-in/log-out system is in keeping with The Organisation of Working Time Records Regulations 2001 and are designed to protect employees. You might have noticed that the interior of our buildings at ParkWest have been undergoing a refresh recently. This work will be completed before the end of July. HR is working with all departments across the business to reduce the silo effect you mention. Companywide communications are becoming more aligned and you will start to see improvements in the coming months. We're confident that the changes we mention above will improve your working environment and you will see Allianz Care taking great strides forward in developing a new vision and mission which is culturally aligned with all employees. Thanks again for your feedback as it helps us to focus on areas for improvement. - Human Resources

Pros

Insurance discount, free parking, multicultural environment, salary increase, flexible Time, week-end off, training, Toil. Transport discounts, Irish bank holiday. Cantine on site

Cons

It is hard to explain in few Words where the issue is coming from as there is so many things that needs to be fixed. First of all learn how to communicate properly. If you want clear ans direct communication well this is not the company for you. As there is no close door you can see management and TL gossiping just in front of you. You can hear TL complaining about the management without even taking in consideration that everybody can hear them. It looks like the dress code is not the same for the management and the agents, you can be convened by your TL if you are wearing denim with holes or if people can see your tattoos but management (lucky them ) can wear whatever they want without any issue apparently. Most of the Time you are being made aware by your colleagues about the change that are going to happen then your TL give you the info that you already have. As the qualified TL have all left the company well the new batch is trying to do the job but clearly they are not fit for the position. No clue how to communicate with their team, they are just in front of their PC answering at their emails. This is not because you’re a good technical agent that you know how to manage people. Management pretend to be open minded but you can clearly read between the lines that you better be nice if you want the chance to move within the company. If you want fairness of treatment well don’t come to Allianz. But if you’re good in politics well welcome in the company. Just know the good people and you will go far. Forget it if you speak too loud and clearly says that things are not going well, you will not go far. If you want to spend a good day, just focus on your work and don’t look around as you will start to notice difference of treatment, favoritism, despotism, lack of professionalism. IT is just a shame - that’s all there is to say about it Rules are different from one department to another. AES is a joke and a waste of time. Don’t ask if you don’t want to know and try to understand what’s asking by us not only changing what you want to change.

Lost in politics and career death trap

Pros

Reasonable pay package if you are there for a while

Cons

The political struggle among management in the company is at historical level. The corporate culture has reduced to favoritism and backstabbing. The management and employees are in opposite camps, instead of working towards the same goal. The company is going through some major changes, however few events had employees involved, informed and included. Communication in the company is the worst of its kind due to sheer arrogance of the management. Employees are always kept in the dark till the very last minute. What worst is that in reality development plan/reviews do not get implemented, hence professional development is most likely left in a death trap.

Thank-you for your feedback. I would welcome the opportunity to discuss your comments or perhaps you can do so with your HR Business Partner? The company does not tolerate the behaviours you describe and we invest considerably in management development and all leaders are measured on key behavioural attributes.
