Distressing and Concerning

Pros

The company provides flexible working hours and promotes cultural awareness. You work with various nationalities and the people are friendly. Allianz also provide some benefits in the form of pension and health insurance, along with discounts for home insurance and motor insurance.

Cons

Communication in claims is atrocious. Team Leaders are often instructed to deliver various communications at the last minute to teams, which impacts morale and creates confusion. The teams and team leaders are constantly pushed for overtime and targets for an SLA that has been failing for years. This is causing people to burn out as well as increase attrition rates. Meetings are then called with HR to discuss the reasons for high absenteeism. It’s a vicious cycle. We see so many new faces every month only to never seem them again. Targets and KPI's are not aligned across the teams, with certain groups, team leaders and managers doing one thing and the rest doing another thing. There are about 10 managers and supervisors 'managing' claims, but we have no direction from any of them. They like to say they are diverse and integral in the way they operate, yet it’s quite clear the better you know a manager/supervisor on a friendly level; the greater your chance of moving up in the company. This generates a lot of tension with the team leaders and officers alike and it’s hard to even stay true to yourself with all of this going on! Reporting, workforce management, forecasting are all pushed onto Team Leaders because there are no teams who do this. Often the team leaders are suddenly involved with projects and tasks without them knowing or without it even being discussed with them. An email just gets rolled out with what is required. It feels like we have less and less time to do what we are there to do which is to lead our staff and spend time with them. You have no one to confide in or discuss your concerns because managers are not approachable at all and often intimidating. We are too scared to speak with HR based on previous experiences and you run the risk of ruining your career.

Pros

I met nice colleagues with whom I also spend time outside work.

Cons

Initially I didn't want to write a review on Glassdoor but after reading a review from someone calling his/ hers own colleagues LIARS I couldn't help but write a review myself. There is a 5 star review on Glassdoor stating that Policy Management is a great department and that all officers who wrote negative reviews about bullying are LIARS. A few questions to the person who wrote that review: - Is it true that certain Team Leads and Managers are gossiping in the shared kitchen or sending email about other officers? YES IT IS!! I heard it with my own ears! - Is it true that last week one of our colleagues reassigned because of the way he was treated? YES IT IS!! - What is with the "Hit list" and "Managed out"? Do you consider this as a way officers should be treated. I DON'T Everyone has the right for his/ her own opinion. If you think that the above is not bullying - it's your own opinion. But I have a problem when someone calls others LIARS just because they consider this behavior as bullying. The positive review also suggested to "speak up". I will just say that I am too afraid to open my mouth because I know that I would be the next "target". You can call me weak - I don't care!! I will speak up once I find a new job and reassign from my job at Allianz Care. Policy Management was a complete different place as I started working. I met really nice people in this department but it doesn't mean that I still enjoy coming to the office and get treated by MANAGEMENT the way they are treating us.

Pros

Come on guys! I honestly can't believe what I am reading here!! This is a large global organisation with vast opportunities for personal development, career growth and the chance to work almost anywhere in the world! That level of success demands drive, determination, hard work and support from your colleagues and managers which personally I found I could always count on. In my experience, I found my Manager second to none and HR were always supportive with an open door policy which gave me the confidence to have open and frank discussions with them...and this trust was never broken. As mentioned by other reviewers there are ample benefits for allianz employees - good salary, proactive performance management, performance related bonuses, training and development, numerous wellbeing initiatives, sports and social club, childcare vouchers, bike schemes, private healthcare, pension, EAP, flexi working, i could go on.... With the right attitude you can excel at this company and unlock your true potential.

Cons

With this size of company there are always some cons but nothing like previous reviews. In my experience I never saw bullying. I did see political discussions between departments and yes at times they can be tiring but all staff still pull together to achieve the client goal. As the company has grown you do sometimes feel like a number and a little disconnected from other offices but all global organisations are like this. Allianz is not unique here.

Many thanks for taking the time to write a review. Our AES is our critical employee engagement feedback tool and we have many initiatives on-going as a result of last year's results, endeavouring to enhance the employee experience. Flexible working arrangements for some departments has been very successful together with working from home for some also. Claire Cusack Director - Human Resources
