Pros

- You can apply for a job everywhere from the world, if you pass the interviews it is not a problem for them to relocate you with a good relocation package. - When you leave the company you will not have problem to find a job.

Cons

Where should I start? - The employees is like brainwashed of children. They have the so called "leadership" principles and always throw these phrases to each other. I am pretty sure most of the employees don't understand what they mean, but they consider very cool. Last time I supposed this to cool in elementary school. - Managers act kings, who can do anything with their subordinates. They will do. They have problem if you: -- don't speak at the unnecessary company meeting, no matters you cannot add any constructive to the topic. -- raise your voice the task takes more time what they imagined. -- use your brain and not follow the other brainwashed employees (Amazonians? How childish...) - Managers likely: -- use the 121 sessions to discipline you. -- always try to find your weakness and use them in their game. -- not try to develop you. -- encourage you to backstab your colleagues. -- always can explain why they don't have to do something what they should do, and why you have to do something what you shouldn't do. - The quality of developers are bad. Some developers don't know elementary fundamentals of boolean algebra. Senior people don't care about the project, they are interested in only the promotion. - They use internal tools what are way much worse what the industry can offer for developers. - You will ended up fixing bugs what someone placed in the code long time ago. The best thing, a lot of people build features on this bug, so it is very likely you have to revert the change. Amazon is a place where they demand you to be professional, but they are not professionals. My manager missed a lot of deadlines, lied me a couple of time, monitored me with every small thing. When I left the company I had a lot of question about my exit. My manager couldn't answer to that, and gave me the contact e-mail of HR. HR didn't answer me, they reach you only they need something. And they want you to pay your bonus back.

Pros

Easy application and hiring process

Cons

We were not trained properly. We watched 5 videos about amazon with no hands on training, then we were put on the phone with live customers. They did not care that we had no idea what we were doing or talking about. This honestly made me look at amazon differently. When I buy things from amazon, and call customer service, I now know that whoever is on the other end of the phone just might not have any idea what they are talking about. And that’s okay with management. This is not how I viewed Amazon before I started working here.
