Pros

Health Insurance, 6% Match on 401K, Tuition Reimbursement, Job Security. Great exposure and responsibilities given to new employees early on.

Cons

Vacation Time for New Employees. Lots of room to move laterally but hard to move up the chain. Still a male-dominated industry with a stunning lack of ethnic diversity given the focus as the world's largest steelmaker.

Pros

It is a huge place with lots of different technologies spanning several decades. There are a lot of knowledgeable people to help you with a problem. The "old timers" do care about your safety.

Cons

It is a huge place with lots of different technologies spanning several decades. To learn them you need to wait until they break because they are not documented. Hopefully you have a partner that knows them well enough to explain what was done to fix it. Lots of retiring people so lots of experience is leaving.
