It is a very flat organization on the editorial side: there are reporters, deputy editors and editors. The editors rarely leave so its hard to move up the chain, which makes it difficult to make Argus a long-term career if you want to advance. Your experience will vary greatly depending on which team you're on. Some teams make a lot of money and are coddled by the management and are compensated very well. Other teams are asked to do much more with less and have turnover issues. There is a very insular and cliquish inner circle at the company that is nearly impossible for a newcomer to join. They are trying to improve the technology but it still lacks. Real-time news is difficult due to the clunky content management system. While quality journalism is valued and respected, reporters and editors are promoted and rewarded more when they develop the business by convincing traders to use Argus pricing, which leads to more subscriptions.
