Pros

Great fiscal discipline and ability to execute, complete customer obsession in front line consultants. We treat our people and customers with integrity and truthfulness, and I love being able to work with some of the smartest people in the technology industry.

Cons

Career upside is limited as you make it into senior ranks, as the company scales more and more emphasis is placed on bottom line and operating efficiency at the expense of risk taking and innovation. Also, the flat organization structure that placed more emphasis on collabration and group success is being replaced by a growth at all costs, you're only as good as your quota mentality, kind of sad given the company is still private and should be able to take more risks and place bigger, longer term bets

Pros

The opportunity to work on large projects, usually using the latest Microsoft Technologies. The training resources available are great. Plus I really feel it is a meticracy. If you work hard and shine relative to your peers you will be recognized. I have been promoted three years in a row and my salary has been very fairly adjusted each time to reflect the new levels I have attained.

Cons

The salary ranges are average, if not a little below for the industry. The bonus plan is non existant for lower level consultants.

Pros

Opportunity to work for large customers on highly complex and challenging projects.

Cons

Lack of real training (currently about 1k per person per year) only self study training available. No training on how to be a consultant, long hours and no bonuses for consultants. IBM has an incentive program based on individual performance and company success. In fact this will be the first company I've worked for where I don't participate in any type of incentive program.
