      Great People and Packages, Controversial Products and Politics

      Pros

      People are very helpful, collaborative at mid-management and below. Packages are (have to be) very competitive so staff retention is generally high, although people keep saying things are changing.

      Cons

      Organisation is very federated and sometimes too cumbersome when trying to implement change. Networking and a little too much emphasis on who you know rather than what you've delivered. Organisational change and restructuring leaves people bewildered at times as moves happen frequently and without much regard to career aspirations.

      I worked for this great company for 18 years, starting as a junior staff and progressed to several senior leadership roles. I stayed this long because it was such a caring company with many nice people. It invested lots of resources in career development and provided very competitive benefits.

      Cons

      Because it is a big corporation, sometimes things are slow.
