      Management Trainee - Trade manager

      Pros

      Graduated from management trainee program and now a junior business development manager. The program is a fantastic way to start for someone looking for a a FMCG career. I got exported to another ASEAN market for 6 months. (they do twice london case study from 2017 onwards now). Lives up to the name of giving you real responsibilities from the start. Love it. quite competitive pay considering the stress versus the top tier consulting or banking firms.

      Cons

      Not as MNC as it seems when it comes to the processes. Very limited marketing experience for markets with stronger legal restrictions. Politics ( I guess you can't avoid that anywhere). Company still very bureaucratic and that slows things down a lot. They claim that they pride on autonomy but BAT is very big on alignment and pre-alignment. Precious resources spent on convincing parties internally than efforts to improve the company.

      Pros

      Great employee benefits from training's, learning opportunities, opportunities to work in overseas locations, good compensation schemes, great bonuses, medical and insurance schemes.

      Cons

      The worst work culture i have seen, the employees are having shrewd and cunning private agenda's to back-stab colleagues which is a very bad environment to work in. Highly stressful environment to work in with work pressure and peer pressure.

      Very little innovation. Conflict based culture - the more conflict you create, the more you will grow. Your job is always on the line.
