Pros

Fun environment during each quarter giving the store new themes and music play lists for us to dance and get through the day while taking care of customers. Opportunity to grow with the company. Created new Top Seller positions for people who are natural salesman/saleswomen. Emphasis on team building and coaching to make you the best you can be on the sales floor or behind the counter. Comfortable dress code for the type of work we do. Gratis product when new products come out.

Cons

Long hours on your feet. Inconsistent schedule times, but that’s retail life. Unrealistic conversion goals. Floorset hour budgets are unrealistic, usually never enough given to get the job done properly. High stress during holidays the higher volume the store. Unrealistic sales goals for management team that has other responsibilities that are in the back office. A lot of marketing changes every day or every few days.

Pros

Occasional free lotion, body cream, and body spray samples. The workplace always smells really nice, and I heard you get commission (although I was there during the holiday season, so I got no commission).

Cons

I worked in one of two of the Bath & Body Works stores at my local mall (the one in the older part of the mall). My manager let me go without officially stating that I was done. She stopped scheduling me but never explicitly told me I would not be back. When I asked for more hours after realizing she didn't schedule me for two weeks in a row, she said she'd call me if she needed more employees the next few weeks. And that was the last time I heard from her. Very unprofessional, in my opinion. If she needed to cut me from the team, I would have appreciated if she had just told me directly. Regardless, I'm sure it was for the best anyway. My co-workers were not very friendly to me, nor were they patient when I had questions about promotions or how to operate the cash register. I was often kept past my 8-hour shifts, and being the newbie that I was, I couldn't say no when they needed me to work an extra 1-2 hours, into the early hours of the next morning. It was a rough first job, especially as a college student. I would not recommend it.

Pros

Competitive pay, many opportunities to advance/grow with the company, overall pleasant work environment, usually great coworkers, even the trash smells good, gratis (monthly free gift(s)),

Cons

HOLIDAY SEASON (you will rue Christmas), requesting a day off is rarely honored especially if you're requesting off on a holiday (at my store at least), floorset ("new theme updates"), ridiculous marketing updates/changes at close sometimes ("mid theme updates"), a lot of manual labor, average retail worker problems.
