High number of nice, thoughtful, smart, committed people worked there. Nice campus. Training programs very good. Recognized domestic partnerships in benefits packages. Approach taken toward group lay-offs of employees during this period seemed to improve over time. Less cynical. Less humiliation of employees in the methods used. Company made major investments in IT - a SAP enterprise system - and in documentation, information, communication and other systems with Valgenis, an LMS, LIMS, etc..
Cons
I was there from the early 2000's - a stressful period. Company went through restructuring, downsizing, upgrading, etc.. Communication within the company wasn't very good in general and it got worse. There were several periods of lay-offs. Treatment of employees during some of these was appalling - little respect or concern. Morale low. Lot of good people moved on. Lot of knowledgeable experienced people lost.
