Booz Allen is a very entrepreneurial company. You are responsible for managing your career, continued education and in some cases creating the opportunity for your next assignment. You are free and encouraged to do as much as possible in order to enhance your posture for future engagements. The company believes and supports professional certification and continued education.

Cons

Transferring positions can be difficult. A lot of the work requires specific knowledge in the DoD or Civil work space. Some managers are reluctant to transfer employees to different locations and would rather hire to fill certain positions.

Support from management and colleagues. Tons of intellectual capital available to advance as a subject matter expert. Sharp, capable colleagues.

Cons

Quarterly performance assessments take up a lot of personal time which includes evenings and weekends. The process is too intensive and time consuming and unfair to employees. You also have to contribute to business development wether you are interested or not.
