Booz Allen - the most well-rounded large consulting firm to work for

Great training and networking opportunities. The firm tries hard to promote knowledge sharing among peers and is doing a commendable job.

Cons

Offsite employees often feel disconnected. May report to multiple supervisors at any one point. Team utilization takes precedence over employees' career goals.

Cons

Work you too much. They require a minimum of 43 hours a week and it can easily exceed that. Not wasy to do with a family. It doesn't seem like they care about work/life balance at all. At least not the team that I worked for. I never saw my manager...very poor communication.

Great people... respecting each other... I am lucky yo have a great manager and team lead, who recognize my effort. I came from a defense contractor, and Booz Allen gave me higher salary and up-word mobility... although people say that it will stop at level 3... =)

Cons

Being a consultant, you got to do whatever that is needed for the client... Management would not shield you a lot of times even if the client's needs are unreasonable. Also, it is difficult to find out different opportunities within the firm if you are working at a client site.
