Booz Allen has a lot of egotistical, type-A, overly aggressive alpha males and females whose main purpose in life is to build their "business case" to become a Sr. Associate (or above). These people work endless hours, they spend little time with their families, and don't have a care about others' families. There is preferential treatment which is obvious in the performance management system. If you're well-liked, outgoing, and network with the right people, then you can promote to the next level. If not, you'll probably be stuck at the Associate level forever. Also, internal programs, projects, and initiatives take months and months to implement because everything has to be socialized, socialized, socialized. Also, you can spend your entire day in meetings which no one is ever on time to. And if you're an Associate or below, you probably aren't allowed to attend a Partner meeting. Communication is lacking and some folks are just out for themselves. Employees do not make high salaries, but VPs and Partners have more perks that the President of the United States. Booz Allen is a good place if you want to say you worked for a top consulting firm, but then again, they are nowhere near the big four. And now that they have IPO'd, they will continue to care less about their employees and more about the bottom line. That was evident when they hired thousands of people in 2010 and now don't have projects to put them on. These peolple left full-time jobs to come to Booz Allen and now may lose their job. Also, I think Booz Allen needs to decide if they want to be a management consulting firm or a government contractor - you can't do both.
