Truly would not recommend this company to my worst enemy. I can't speak for all departments, as I know some of them are great to work for, but the marketing department is diabolical and I will list multiple reasons why.
1.) The amount of people from this department who go on mental health leave...a book should be written about it or an article written about the trauma Braze has causes multiple employees across the marketing org. Because this company needs to be exposed.
2.) Over worked (point 1) under paid. Do your research. This company under pays SO badly. You can go work for any other tech company that will pay you better than here.
3.) Leaders are breathing down your necks 24/7 because all they care about is numbers. It has become EXTREMELY toxic and takes away from all your creative freedom as a marketer. They literally treat you like your job is to be a bdr and physically get new opportunities, rather than a marketer who is setting up experiences for the sales team to get new opportunities.
4.) Pay rises are a joke. Don't expect a massive pay rise ever after you join. Expect you to keep the lights on in new business world but won't increase your salary at a notable rate.
If you want reasons why you shouldn't join this company as a whole. Here are a few very good ones
1.) You are literally a number to this company. Once they are done with you they will find a way to push you out. Have seen it happen to multiple people who were long standing employees.
2.) HR is a JOKE. Probably the most important point of this whole text - They do not and I repeat, DO NOT, take harassment issues seriously. I filed a formal harassment claim against someone very senior in the company. And what did they do? Nothing!! Until I addressed it with the company and they gaslighted me saying I never submitted a formal complaint - but rest assured "action was taken against the employee" and that they are sorry I was not updated after the investigation closed as it was an OVERSIGHT on their part - an oversight to keep an employee updated?! From a public companies HR department..... A lot of things wrong here including gaslighting an employee as their defence mechanism for forgetting about a formal complaint they submitted? Clear that they wanted to protect the senior employees reputation more than address the harassment claim I filed.
Hopefully this saves someone the trauma of having to work for this company. And if they want to reply below with "please reach out to us to discuss this" know that I already did and it lead to no where and thats why I left. Because once again and moral of the story - you are just a number to them, and they care more about their reputation then you as a human!!!
