      Pros

      There are some progressive people and thought leaders at Cengage. The benefits are excellent compared to most of corporate America.

      Cons

      Initiatives are started that don't work in the field at all or may take some time to take root- time that isn't given because a new initiative is rolled out before anyone is even asking for a change. The company is positioning itself to be sold, so there are a lot of constant changes causing panic to ensue. Onboarding is extremely lacking causing inconsistent messaging and policy interpretation.

      Pros

      Job flexibility; lots of great people at the company, good benefits.

      Cons

      Company is owned by "short timer investors" and the attitudes at corporate level show. Cengage could be manufacturing anything- plumbing parts or textbooks- the connection to the product at the highest level is just not there. Constant organizational changes, and a bloat of management really crowds out the excellent employees that continue to make quality products despite the leadership challenges.
