Pros

Company hires high quality talent and trusts them to do their job without any middle management. Remote first and flexible hours and location of work. Company has a set of great core values including compassion and empathy. CEO truly cares deeply about every employee. Extremely fun working environment and no corporate BS.

Cons

Company is growing quickly and has some growing pains.

Thank you so much for sharing! We're very proud of the working environment that everyone has built. Those values of trust, compassion and empathy are truly at the centre of everything we do and I know the whole team is committed to that. I completely agree that keeping things flexible and maintaining the remote and non-corporate vibe is just so much more…fun! That said, yes we are growing quickly and that comes with its own challenges. It’s going to continue to be a learning process, but it’s great to know that you're with us on this journey. Your ideas and concerns are crucial and will continue to help shape the future of the company. Thanks again for taking the time to post this, and please feel welcome to connect 1:1 to discuss further at any time!

Pros

The treatment that I have received at Chess.com is simply unbelievable for a company. Always willing to help, to care about ourselves, keep us motivated and specially, always relying on us and helping us to give our best. Erik and all the team are the best team I have ever had in all my life. I am sure I won't find a better team EVER.

Cons

Sometimes, you are so involved in the product and the company that you need to "force" yourself to disconnect but this is something that comes from myself. The company never asked me to work "more" or anything similar. They treat you so well that you feel incredibly involved with the company.

Pros

Fully remote, time off isn't really questioned, and you can work whenever you want (as long as you fulfill your duties).

Cons

Management is disorganized, and low-level managers have no actual power that they're willing to use. My manager specifically would often say one thing and do a complete other thing. Pay raises do NOT even keep up with inflation, and there is little to no opportunity for advancement.
