Never Paid: I was hired to support Chipotle's brand new 2809 N Ashland Ave location. I worked there for about a month part-time yet I was NEVER paid!
Lack of Communication: The management team consisted of a general manager and an apprentice manager. After the store opened, the managers started writing people off the schedule, never clearing terminating employees, and then NEVER PAYING THEM.
No Accountability: I never again heard from managers despite frequent attempts to communicate with them over the phone, email, and even in-person. They simply ignored me and acted like I did not exist as we breathed the same air.
Corporate Failure: Attempting to get in touch with Chipotle's HQ was fruitless. Apparently the managers destroyed all records of me, and other employees', existence at the N Ashland Ave store so they could not pay us. How convenient!
Dangerous Work Environment: Management pushed us to ignore Chipotle guidelines and perform work tasks in a dangerous manner. Due to their negligence and persistence, I witnessed coworkers go through extreme grease burns and knife wounds. In both instances, management instantly fired them and escorted the wounded off the premises to avoid accountability. When asked why they said, "We can't afford workman's comp."
Stay AWAY from this company if you are looking for an environment that pays its workers and abides by the basic federal guidelines.
