Pros

* if you're lazy it doesn't matter, you'll never get fired (I see it rather as cons, though) * close to OC Chodov * nice benefits (MultiSport, Sodexo, language courses etc.) * a lot of internal positions * easy to get an entry level job

Cons

* you'll watch every day "wanna be managers" showing off around and bragging how busy they are with their meetings, when in reality doing nothing (example, it's totally normal thing to ignore people's emails even if there's a question directed to you) * lethargy, many people non-motivated and utterly lazy doing absolutely nothing * salaries are very miserable, especially if you speak some language that's more wanted on the market (German or Swedish, let's say) * useless processes and rituals that don't make sense at all (example, there was a global event of a special ritual "GAMBA walk", what's basically an event when a manager comes and sits next to employee and watches what she/he does and tries to understand problems that people are facing. shouldn't that every normal manager do?!) * everything is extremely slow and bureaucratic, it takes months for a project just to start * rigid security rules - example you cannot install even proofing tools on your PC, you have to raise a ticket and wait 2 days for installation that lasts 5 seconds * huge open-space with too many people on phone surrounded by gray walls and curtains * inconsistency of management's promises * gotta be a follower, no space for critical thinking, creativity nor thinking out of the box

Falling behind

Pros

good work life balance nice people flexibility good HR process

Cons

falling behind in several aspects: - salaries are small: even if you have more experience, you and other inexperienced person might differ only in 2000 czk gross salary for the same job, or you wilh have the same salary as person working much easier job than you. - benefits are too modest -> 300czk flexipass when others are offering 1000, 70czk meal vouchers are just not enough for lunch prices nowadays; no multisport card, no company events - home office 2 times a week but not more than 4 days a month - why? All the work is done over Skype anyways, makes no difference where you are - DHL has a major flaw and that is not creating a sense of belonging for its employees. It is just like you do your work because it is why you are here but you don't feel you are contributing on a bigger scale, it feels like DHL might as well be just any other random company that gives you salary. You just don't give a **** somehow for the company itself, which is kind of sad.

Intelligent employees would be dissapointed

Pros

It's an environment where you can learn many things about IT processes and services, if you are motivated to investigate and smart enough to see the "bigger picture". The working environment is spacious. There are a few relax zones, it's clean and it's located near the Chodov Shopping Center.

Cons

People lacking leadership and people management skills are way too often placed in positions to lead teams. Most managers lack the very understanding of what a team is and how to increase their performance. Rigid mindset (even sexist due to being in a the male dominated industry), not accepting new ideas to increase efficiency and being afraid of changes. Across the years I've known several managers and 'leaders'' with little education and lacking critical skills for their positions being promoted due to the social network they are part of. While having limited skills, these individuals tend to adopt an authoritarian management style, creating a bad dynamic (gossiping, lack of transparency, lack of consideration for team/group members when making decision about their work, etc) within the groups they are supposed to manage (as we cannot speak of leadership or teams in these cases). Skilled and intelligent employees tend to be fed up with having less skilled people as managers and leave the group or the company all together. It's not a good environment for intelligent people, as intelligence and high efficiency cannot be spotted (or understood when explained) by those who do not have the ability to comprehend it.
