Pros

I joined Deel as an Account Executive in 2022 and I've never looked back. Most of my time is dedicated to assisting founders and c-suite executives in navigating the immigration process across 30+ countries and continents. These conversations not only stimulate me intellectually but also enable me to build close relationships with prominent figures at renowned companies and pioneers in cutting-edge technologies like AI. From the perspective of an Account Executive, this role has been the most financially rewarding I've ever had. It's no surprise that the majority of my leads come to me: Deel stands as the industry leader, serving clients ranging from burgeoning startups to household names in various sectors, including BBC, Nike, and Reddit. We fulfill a crucial need for both companies and individuals, delivering exceptional value by "bringing people to work." Companies rely on us for seamless operations, and their employees depend on us for timely payments. I appreciate that Deel employees use the same portal and processes as our customers, providing us with firsthand insights into what works and how we can continue to make improvements. Deel Speed isn't just a catchphrase; it's a reality. It's not about rushing and causing disruptions; it's about working with a sense of urgency and swiftly finding solutions when challenges arise. Every team at Deel is composed of the brightest, most talented individuals I've ever had the pleasure of working with, spanning 3000+ employees across 100+ countries. There's a consistent spirit of collaboration across all communication channels. Even our CEO, Alex, is just a DM away when you need assistance. (You'll also find him and other executives like the CRO Shuo and COO Dan actively engaged in Slack discussions, sleeves rolled up and ready to contribute.) As a result, you can rest assured that your feedback will be heard and that you have the opportunity to make a tangible impact on Deel and its 20,000+ customers. Oh another pro? Equity in a $12B unicorn that’s been profitable for over a year. ;)

Cons

At Deel, we're a team of doers, not bystanders. We're the ones who make things happen, who turn the gears, and who refuse to be held back by anything. We embody the words of Snowflake CEO Frank Slootman: "Make your days, other people's weeks. Make your weeks, other people's months. Make your months, other people's years." Deel is for drivers, not passengers.

Thanks for the review! We agree that the ability to work remotely provides great opportunities for working autonomously and delivering flexibility in life. Regarding compensation, we need to do more on education internally to ensure everyone understands that we have a location based pay philosophy. This means that we look at all the variables of pay - individual taxes and costs, employer costs, overall taxation and government requirements by location, benefits, leave policies, internal parity (what we've been able to hire and retain people for), market compensation data, and candidate compensation data - then we develop our job infrastructure (job profiles, salary ranges by country). So we will have individuals in the same job profile being paid differently based on their country of residence (ie Singapore is a different salary range from Brazil based on cost of labor and cost of living in each country). We do focus on internal pay parity for individuals sitting in the same job profile in the same country, however, and since establishing our pay philosophy and job infrastructure in the past 4 months we did commit to a twice annual compensation review for all. We are in the midst of our mid year compensation cycle now.
