Pros

Generally good flexibility for scheduling, unlimited sick days (but you are punished if you actually take them) Excellent teammates that turn into life long friends. Pets in the office Volunteer days if you want to use them. Some WFH days.

Cons

TOXIC Culture in claims, parent company touts amazing culture but when it comes down to actually delivering it is pathetic. Leaderships asks people to bring up issues but does nothing to address these issues and then punishes you for not being happy with the working environment. If you don’t agree with management do NOT voice that. “Ask Me Anything” meetings are absolutely not that! “Open door policy” also does not mean that, never ever speak to upper management about any negative issues, at best you will be ignored and not responded to, at worst you will be written up and accused of being unprofessional. So much pressure to answer in a positive light on the engagement surveys, low team engagement means low bonus and negligible pay increase. Salary used to be competitive but is now stagnant and falling far behind positions at other companies. Leaders say they want equity in the department but then put everyone’s goals exactly the same. WHY is close to a third of the department on stress/medical leave?? There is pressure from management to not take leave when needed as a result. Leaders will not go to bat for their employees, just shrug their shoulders and say “thats how it is”. No opportunity for advancement but you are still expected to have these big stretch career goals, even if you ARE happy with the position you are in. Remote employees are completely left out of department meetings with upper management, and any sort of celebration, or special event. Forced time in office despite clear increased productivity with WFH.

We’re glad to hear that you’ve had positive experiences with flexibility, your teammates, and some of the programs we offer. At the same time, we’re very sorry to hear about your experience regarding culture, leadership, and workplace environment. What you’ve described is not the experience we strive to create for our employees, and your feedback is important in helping us better understand where we need to improve. We take these concerns seriously, particularly around psychological safety, leadership accountability, and employee well-being. If you’d like to discuss your experience further, we encourage you to reach out to our HR team at HRSharedServices@definity.com.
