Pros

Delta has seen us through the revolutionary change in the airline industry with top of the line communication and leadership to make tough changes with compassion. In the end we come out the largest airline poised for success and strong enough to endure fuel prices, finance crisis, and passenger demand. Our flexible work rules, schedules and pay options keep me on the ground or up in the air on rather nicely negotiated terms and management continues to provide the things I need to get my job done, admits their mistakes and genuinely attempts to do their best, as long as I do my best.

Cons

The flexibility I spoke of before also leads to schedules, work rules and job security that tends to flex as well. I have to keep in motion as much as the airline must keep in motion and sometimes that leads to levels of insecurity not many choose to deal with. I have to trust in my leadership they see a bigger picture than what I can. If you travel 3000 miles by car, you'll run into traffic, weather and road issues. The same goes for flying but at a much faster pace. I have to keep that in mind that detours on many factors are necessary, just as they are in many businesses.

Meeting new people, Visitting New places, Great travel benefits(when seats are available), Good health benefit and a great opportunities and venues for career advancements. that is offcourse provided you know what do u want and you set clear goals to yourself.

Cons

Having to deal with people ( flight attendants ) that have been there for ages that are not welling to evolve, love or care about what they do and taking there job for granted that said please understand that not all senior flight attendants are like that but the majority of them are.

Pros

My fellow employees are very personable. The travel benefits are nice, work place is nice, and if you like people this is certainly a good job for that. Richard Andersen seems to have the company pointed in the right direction for the first time in years.

Cons

Compensation is too low and promises were broken with regard to pilot retirement. The management is aggressively non-union. I suspect that without a Pilot union (ALPA) things would be much less rewarding and job security would be questionable. Delta has laid off thousands of employees in the past years and outsourced thousands of jobs, many to India. It is a shadow of the company it was once with more of a focus on profits than employees. Typical corporate culture.
