Pros

Wothin reason the company tries to do the right thing for employees.

Cons

Cult-like culture. Very insulated and suspicious of "goings-on" outside of Atlanta. It purports to be a global company, but its thinking is local and confined to the Southern USA. Compensation for high level performance is not competitive with other industries, and its policy is outdated, where an employee in a rural part of the USA is compensated in the same manner as an employee in a city like New York. As a result in places like New York, the company cannot attract the level of talent necessary to compete for the best people available.

Pros

Delta Air Lines provideds the best flight benefit program of any major airline. $50 annual charge for flights to anywhere in the Delta/Northwest system. I'm talking Bankok, Tokyo, London, Paris, Amsterdam, Las Vegas, Los Angeles, New York, Miami. Where ever and pretty much when ever you want. All covered with the $50 annual charge. You also get a full health insurance package with options for HSA(health care savings account). You will also work in a non-stale enviorment that allows you to hone your customer service and critical thinking skills.

Cons

Some departments deal with passengers and you sometimes deal with some colorful characters, also you may also work outdoors if you choose to work on the ramp or in maintence, mother nature is the enemy there.

Pros

If you have vacation and money and there are seats on a flight, then the flight benefits are awesome and sometimes are worth the low pay and odd hours. But with the cutbacks in flights, it is getting ever increasingly more difficult to fly. There are offices around the world and if you are in the right department, you can work anywhere. Some tax inplications apply in some countries but you could always come back to ATL.

Cons

Downsides are the cutbacks we are constantly going through from pay to benefits to manpower. Sending jobs elsewhere has hurt us for positions but has saved the company money. Those of us that have survived jobcuts are now doing the work of 5. It is more work and less pay.
