A lot of ownership and very little micromanagement

Pros

DoiT gives people real agency; there’s very little micromanagement, and you’re expected to own your domain and make decisions, not wait for approval on every step. That trust goes both ways and makes the work more satisfying. The people are smart, practical, and genuinely care about customers. Leadership is also unusually transparent about business metrics and the overall health of the company, which is refreshing for a company at this stage. Remote-first actually works here because expectations are clear and people are treated like adults.

Cons

Priorities can shift quickly and the pace can feel intense at times. Processes are still evolving, which can create ambiguity if you prefer highly structured environments. You need to be comfortable with change and with building while flying.

Remote first done right

Pros

The team I work with is, hands down, the most capable and selfless team I’ve ever been part of. I regularly get to work on interesting, challenging projects that have real impact. My manager genuinely respects me and does an excellent job handling bureaucracy and priorities, which lets me focus on the work I enjoy and do best. Remote work, unlimited vacation, paid paternity leave, and other benefits make Doit a very comfortable place to work—especially being on a team that truly covers for one another. Overall, I’m doing meaningful, impactful work with a great manager and an exceptional team, while having the flexibility my growing family needs, plus strong benefits that make the experience even better.

Cons

Upper management can feel inconsistent with priorities, and a restructuring announced months ago is still unresolved. This uncertainty makes planning and execution harder and has caused real frustration on the ground. While the team has strong overall achievements, there are occasional “lone wolf” behaviors—people working outside agreed processes—which can lead to bugs, rework, and delays for others. The lack of in-person company or departmental meetups is felt. Some of our best collaboration and product ideas historically came from these gatherings, and their absence has been noticeable. In previous years, the company did a good job recognizing employee impact through raises. This past year, that didn’t happen, which was disappointing and created concern about long-term recognition.

Pros

I've been working at DoiT for many years now, and have been through up and down (up until now, mostly up) I can say that there are several reasons I still love it here :) 1. The company owner/founder is super techy; he is still hands-on. Still writing code and participating in (almost) all Slack conversations. That is leading by example. 2. The company is constantly evolving and adapting to technology and market needs/shifts. This might not be suitable for everyone; you need to be quick, agile and think on the move. I love this approach :) 3. Company is remote first (some will say remote only), you can work from anywhere, just doo a great job and coordinate with your manager ;) 4. Really great people, technically speaking and (I think more important most times) team players. The company has grown to almost 700 people, but there isn't a corporate vibe; people know each other and love helping. This is one of the company's values. 5. The Startup vibe is still there - if you're looking for a place to be heard and make an impact, DoiT is the place for you. Just be ready for a challenge, as there are some real heavy hitters here :), a great place to hone your skills :) Bottom line, if you know how to work from remote, love working with a team of great minds, can handle a quick pace, on-the-go work and rise to any challenge offered, DoiT is a place you should consider :)

Cons

There are several cons, which are the otherside of the Pros I stated... Remote-only - After five years of working remotely, I can say with certainty that this is not suitable for everyone. DoiT is working great remotely; the tools to support it are in place. But it is different and requires different skills, from communication and self-management. Startup state of mind - Things are moving fast, really fast, and the time from "thought" to "decision" to "execute" is rapid, sometimes rapid. If you are looking for a place to relax and watch the emails go by, it might not be a good fit. Need to be flexible - it is not about the speed or volume of work; it is about the agility of the mind. Not everyone thrives in an environment that is evolving quickly; others bloom. I think it is worth considering. I personally don't like being in one place for too long, and DoiT allowed me to be in DoiT for many years, but I do so many different things that I never got bored :
