I mean, it's a job..

Pros

You get a paycheck so you can maybe afford to either eat or pay rent/bills. Drink all the coffee you want.

Cons

Pay is awful and tips suck. If you ever get a raise, it'll be maybe 75 cents after years of working. Drama. No matter the age or gender, everyone acts like they're in high school because the drive-thru people are apparently better than counter & backroom workers. It's very weird how it's like that at any store you work at in any area. They'll always expect you to stay late. I've had managers tell me that the schedule is 'just a loose guideline' and I got 'written up' for not staying two hours past my 8 hour shift. As if I didn't have kids to pick-up from school and ya know, parent. The general managers are generally miserable and the owners are greedy control freaks who'll fire people for dumping out extremely old coffee & throwing away expired food. They want every penny, even the ones from tips that you drop on the floor when it's busy. Yes, they will pick them up and take them. Some owners discriminate over what color your hair is and all that stuff that literally means nothing when it comes to job performance. They should probably go franchise a Chick-fil-A instead.

Pros

Free food when on breaks

Cons

Idiotic management that cannot commit to a schedule, yet schedules employees 3 weeks in advance, and expects employees to cover shifts at the drop of a hat Managers often scream and berate employees in front of customers, leading to a high turnover rate Management choosing clear favorites with some workers able to call out at will while others are forced to stay late for no reason Management will straight up lie to you about taking time off (in my experience my manager told me he called everyone available and that there was nobody that was able to swap shifts with me. He sent this to me at 7am, meaning that he likely called nobody as I have never received a call from him before 10am) Management is unable to keep proper stock of food or supplies leading to a chronic lack of donuts and pastries and well as cleaning supplies Pest issue in my store is pervasive and constant, with no real attempts to remove it Spotty training system which creates workers who are incapable of doing everything the job requires them Management not caring for employee health (i.e. workers being forced to carry heavy trays of food with a broken wrist)
