Thanks for your review of Electrolux. We are happy to hear that you enjoyed working with your previous colleagues and that you were able to participate in larger projects that created valuable learning experiences. Of course it is disappointing that despite these factors you would not recommend the company, but we wish you best of luck in the future.

Pros

Good facility, fun category to be in. Being in Charlotte,NC is a lot better than being in a strip mall in August, GA.

Cons

All manual processes. Unsophisticated way to lead and manage employees. Leaders grew up by hob nobbing and kissing up to their managers. No structured ways to execute. No long term strategy for meaningful growth.

Thank you for your review of Electrolux. We are glad that you enjoyed the Charlotte facility but we agree that taking care of employees includes much more than just providing a nice building. Please consider taking the time to share some of your own insights in this area based on what would have been meaningful for you while you were with the company. You can do this by emailing Group HR at employee.experience@electrolux.com. Specific feedback that we receive will help us make these meaningful changes in the working lives of your previous colleagues. Thank you and best of luck in your future endeavors.

Pros

Industry serves the essential needs of consumers everywhere (cooking products, refrigeration, and laundry). Good brand recognition. Good location in Charlotte, NC

Cons

This company is so archaic and full of themselves. They are operating as if the market is still in the 1950's. Competiton is so fierce now with big competitors from Korea and China but Electrolux has not changed. It still moves at a snail pace and moves in all types of directions. Everyone and every function are to themselves. Not only that they are not working together, they are working hard to undermine each other. Products are outdated and have very poor quality. Quality is not in their vocabulary. I didn't even buy Electrolux/Frigidaie products for my own use even though I had 50% employee discounts. Cronyism and nepotism run rampant in this company. Don't expect good raises of you just focus on doing a good job and not kissing your managers' butt They waste so much time and money with the Swedish global interference. Most of the global folks are so unqualified and not adding value to local business. Yet teams here have to wear dual hats and most often with conflicting directions. This place is like a jungle! Quality of leadership team here is so poor and uneducated. Most of them never finished college or if they did, they went to some small boon doggied colleges. Last CEO McLoughlin really screwed up the business here by going after GE appliances at all costs. Stupid decisions!! Current CEO Shaw is over his head and is clueless on what to do. If you want a good job that you can contribute positively, build a career, and feel good about what you have done, then STAY FAR AWAY from this place....... If you want to pass the time, don't do anything positively for the company, but good at kissing up your bosses to survive then this place is for you. You will do well here.

It’s clear that you had many frustrations while working at Electrolux, and you are entitled to your own viewpoint and to share your specific experience. Aside from your personal opinion about product quality or how raises are calculated, we can say that certain behaviors you have cited are not just a workplace Con but actually (if true) against both our Code of Ethics and Code of Conduct. We expect all Electrolux employees to report these types of behaviors so that they can be properly documented and investigated in order for appropriate actions to be taken. This is not just what employees agree to do to be in compliance with policies, but rather part of what it means to be accountable to others in creating and maintaining a workplace we all enjoy and feel we can grow in. We hope that while you were a part of Electrolux, you reported this type of behavior to our ethics Alertline. This issue of working together to better all of Electrolux touches on one further area you mention: silos. It is true that within large organizations there can be a tendency to work in isolation—Electrolux is not unique in this way. As you point out, it is a negative practice especially if we recognize that we all need others in order to succeed at what we do. But statements about “global interference” and disparaging remarks about what you feel the qualifications of certain leaders to be actually promote the behavior that we would both agree is non-productive. The fact is that we are part of one company and though we operate in many different countries, thinking of ourselves as belonging only to Electrolux North America or Electrolux Italy does not help us make better business decisions or create a more collaborative environment. In any case, we wish you best of luck in the future.
